I’m still on my break from any major blogging but I am noting ideas down so stay tuned for content when I officially return. However, this week I have reached 500 twitter followers! (well 501 as of now) which I am pleased as punch about and just wanted to give a shout out. When setting out to do my blog over 5 years ago I had no real goals or aims other than just to write out my thoughts and hope somebody reads it! My first thought was that if my blog reached out and impacted a single person positively then everything I had done was worth it. After the first person anymore is really a happy bonus and my aim is to impact as many people as possible. Becuase of multiple social media and bots, it is difficult to estimate just how many people my blog has impacted and while it would be interesting to know it is impossible to know. In reality, I never thought that my blog would reach to so many people and make the impact that it did – I thought it would remain in obscurity. I really underestimated the power of the internet.
The funny thing was my Twitter profile was second only to my Facebook one. Then in recent weeks it suddenly spiked and not only over-took the Facebook page but hit the 500 mark before it. Facebook is around the 450 mark if you were wondering.
I like to say a big thanks not only to my Twitter followers but anyone who reads, follows, and/or supports my blogging antics whether it is directly with the site or through the social media branch(es). It is great to know that there is an audience for the information I love to share and the odd piece of trivia that ranges from the useful to the obscure. I’ll do my utmost to keep this blog going with fresh content for you loyal readers and any newcomers.
